I’m a U14 girl racing on the national scene, competing across Scotland, London and the Isle of Man, so choosing a new bike was a pretty big decision!
After looking at loads of options, I decided on the Winspace SLC5. The main goal with the build was to get it as light as possible to help on the climbs, especially with some of the bigger hills we race on in the UK! At the same time, I wanted something fast and responsive that I could keep developing on as I move up through the age groups.
Alex from Carbon Velo has been amazing throughout the whole process, helping put together a build that’s completely tailored to me. It’s been really cool being involved in all the decisions and making it feel like my bike rather than just something taken off the shelf.
I also decided to get the frame custom painted by Velo Paintworks, which was such a cool experience. Seeing the design come to life made the whole project even more exciting!
Once the bike was built, I even got to head out for a ride with Al to test everything out properly. It was great to get his advice and make sure everything felt perfect before getting stuck into racing.
The customer service has honestly been brilliant from start to finish, and I’m really excited to see what the SLC5 can do over the season ahead.
