We know that not every customer can travel to South Wales to collect their new bike in person. That's why we offer a specialist ready-to-ride bike delivery service with Bike Services UK, allowing us to safely deliver complete bikes to customers across much of the UK.
This isn't a conventional parcel courier service. Your bike does not need to be dismantled and packed into a cardboard bike box. Instead, Bike Services UK specialises in transporting complete bicycles without boxes, allowing your new Carbon Velo bike to arrive in the same assembled condition in which it leaves us.
Will my Carbon Velo bike arrive fully assembled?
Yes. Your bike is delivered fully built and ready to ride. There is no need for you to unpack a large bike box, refit the handlebars, install the front wheel or carry out any other bike assembly before your first ride.
We build, set up and prepare your bike at Carbon Velo before collection. Bike Services UK then transports the complete bike using its specialist bicycle delivery service.
For customers who aren't confident assembling a high-performance road or gravel bike - or simply don't believe they should have to after buying a complete custom-built bike - this is a major advantage over conventional boxed delivery.
Does my new bike need to be packed in a box?
No. The bike itself is transported without a bike box.
Bike Services UK specialises in no-box bicycle transport. Their drivers and vehicles are set up specifically for transporting bicycles, rather than treating your new bike as an oversized parcel moving through a conventional courier network.
This means we don't have to partially dismantle your finished bike simply to fit it into a cardboard shipping box.
What happens to the accessories supplied with my bike?
Your accessories box is delivered with the bike. This contains the additional items supplied with your build that aren't fitted to the bicycle.
Your bike and its accompanying accessories therefore arrive together, while the bike itself remains fully assembled and ready to ride.
Who delivers Carbon Velo bikes?
Ready-to-ride deliveries are carried out by Bike Services UK, a specialist UK bicycle logistics company.
Unlike a conventional parcel courier carrying thousands of different types of packages, Bike Services UK's drivers specialise in transporting bicycles. Their ready-to-ride service is specifically designed to collect and deliver complete bikes without requiring them to be boxed.
Can I choose when my bike is delivered?
Bike Services UK will contact you to arrange your delivery. Once your bike has been collected from Carbon Velo, the delivery arrangements are agreed with you rather than your bike simply appearing unexpectedly at your address.
This is particularly useful with a high-value bike, as you can make sure somebody is available to receive it personally.
Can I track my bike on the day of delivery?
Yes. Live tracking is provided on the day of delivery.
You will receive a tracking link that allows you to follow the progress of your delivery and see the driver's exact location, giving you a much better idea of when your new bike will arrive.
How much does ready-to-ride bike delivery cost?
Ready-to-ride bike delivery starts from £75 + VAT (£90 including VAT), depending on your postcode.
Carbon Velo does not currently add a markup to this service. We simply pass on the cost of specialist delivery by Bike Services UK, giving customers who can't collect from our Bridgend workshop access to a safe and convenient alternative to conventional boxed bike delivery.
The final delivery cost depends on your postcode. Contact us with your delivery postcode and we'll confirm the exact cost before arranging your delivery.
How long does delivery take?
Bike Services UK is a specialist bicycle transport service rather than a conventional next-day parcel courier. Delivery time therefore depends on your location and the route being planned.
Once the delivery is arranged, you'll be kept informed of the collection and delivery schedule. Bike Services UK plans its routes around specialist bike transportation rather than simply moving your bike through a conventional parcel network.
Where can Carbon Velo deliver complete bikes?
Bike Services UK provides its ready-to-ride service across much of the UK, although delivery times and charges vary according to postcode.
Some locations may have different arrangements or be outside the unboxed delivery area, so if you're unsure whether ready-to-ride delivery is available to your address, contact us with your postcode and we'll check it for you.
Can I still collect my bike from Carbon Velo?
Absolutely! It's always our preference to meet our customers in person, to introduce you to your bike, its operation and ownership. We can go for a test ride and make final fit adjustments, and of course have a coffee!
For customers further afield, however, our ready-to-ride delivery service means distance doesn't have to prevent you from ordering a Carbon Velo complete bike.
Why does Carbon Velo use a specialist bike delivery service?
A Carbon Velo complete bike is individually specified, professionally built, set up and prepared before it leaves us. We don't want to undo that work simply to squeeze the finished bike into a conventional courier box.
Using a specialist bicycle courier allows us to hand over the completed bike in its finished condition and have it transported to you without the usual dismantling associated with boxed bicycle delivery.
The result is simple: your new bike arrives at your door ready to ride, rather than ready to build.
How do I arrange ready-to-ride delivery?
If you're ordering a complete bike from Carbon Velo and can't collect from our Bridgend workshop, let us know that you'd like to use our ready-to-ride delivery service. We'll be happy to provide a quote based on your postcode.
We'll arrange collection of your completed bike by Bike Services UK and provide the necessary delivery details. Bike Services UK will then contact you regarding the delivery arrangements and provide live tracking when your bike is on its way.
